The Unintentional Comedy of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
A Stars Theater Production: In this zany adaptation of Washington Irving’s classic tale of superstition and village rivalry, a troupe of 5 actors gather in the middle of the woods to recreate their version of the legend of Sleepy Hollow. Amidst his harmonica renditions of some not-so-Puritan songs, the gawky schoolmaster Ichabod Crane is as obsessed with the Salem Witch trials as he is with feasting on the dishes served up by the Sleepy Hollow women – especially the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel.
Will this beautiful daughter of a wealthy local farmer return Ichabod’s affections, or does she have other ideas? Will her father’s wish for an arranged marriage win over true love! What will be the outcome when Ichabod confronts his desires, fears, and of course, the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow?
