Have you ever wanted to learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher, or know how you can safely administer CPR in the COVID era? Join us for this hands-on and interactive lunchtime training session! Every 24 seconds, a fire department in the United States responds to a fire somewhere in the nation. If a fire was to occur right now, what would you do? Chances are you don't know, or you aren't sure. Attending fire safety training helps to prepare you in the event of an emergency and what actions you should take to help mitigate it. Laura Hill, Deputy Fire Marshal with theFuquay-Varina Fire Department will cover fire safety systems, and demonstrate tips to keep you safe and how to use a fire extinguisher.
Our hands can do so many things, the most important of which may be saving someone’s life, and the power is in YOUR hands. More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival!Anne Miller, Regional Executive Director with the American Heart Association will provide crucial (non-certified) training in the 2 easy steps of Hands-Only CPR: 1) Call 9-1-1 and 2) Push hard and fast in the center of the chest till help arrives.
