Let's Do Lunch With the Chamber! : 540 Construction Update

Join us as we host Dennis Jernigan, P.E., Deputy Chief Engineer for Highway Operations with the NC Turnpike Authority in charge of construction for the Complete 540 project. Dennis will present an overview of the NC Turnpike Authority, and then talk about the Complete 540 project and current construction activities. The Complete 540 project will extend the Triangle Expressway from the NC 55 Bypass in Apex to US 64/US 264 (I-87) in Knightdale, completing the 540 Outer Loop around the greater Raleigh area.
 
The project will be completed in two phases: Phase 1, currently under construction, is the western portion of the project between NC 55 Bypass in Apex and I-40 near the Wake/Johnston County line. Phase 2 is the eastern portion of the project between I-40 and US 64/US 264 Bypass (I-87) in Knightdale and a construction contract is projected to be awarded no later than 2029.
