FVDA's En Plein Air Paint-Off

En Plein Air paint-off is an exciting free outdoor event, sponsored by Fuquay-Varina Downtown as a way to support artists in our area and bring public art to our streets. 

Friday and Saturday afternoon a contest of skills will challenge each artist to create an original oil or acrylic masterpiece of Fuquay-Varina Downtown’s historic landscape. On Saturday evening a public auction will be held where art enthusiasts will have a chance to take home one of these treasures in what we feel will become a collection that will be revered for many generations to come.

Friday, May 4th: Artists begin to paint. Some may finish their first painting. It is totally based on how they deliver their craft to the canvas. 

Saturday, May 5th: 
Morning & Late Afternoon: Artists finalize paintings around historic downtown districts.
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Painting will be judged 
5:30 PM: Artist reception and public viewing on Depot Street (beside Elliott’s)
6:30 PM: Winners Announced. Public Auction begins on Depot Street

The beauty is within our streets, the finished product is in the hands of the artist.
