DESCRIPTION:The St. Baldrick's Foundation\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money to fund the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives\, has issued a lofty challenge to everyone who wants to help raise money for pediatric cancer research: Be a hero for kids with cancer by shaving your head in return for pledges of financial support from friends and family. Participants find that shaving their head in solidarity with the approximately 160\,000 children who are diagnosed with cancer each year and frequently lose their hair as a result of treatment\, is a small sacrifice in comparison to what these children endure.\n\n\n\nOn April 9th volunteers from Fuquay Varina and surrounding areas will shave their heads to help Conquer Kids' Cancer! The event will be held locally at On the Snap Sports Bar and Billiards 2221 N Grassland Dr Fuquay Varina. The head-shavings will commence at 7pm. Salon Bliss will be donating their time and efforts to perform the shavings and run the event. There will be raffles and lots of fun and entertainment. The event fundraising goal is $10\,000. Funds also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials\, offering the best available care for every child.
