Whether you drive a classic car or just like to look at them, you'll love the Cruise-In , held in the Fuquay District on Friday, April 13. This free event will take place from 5-8. Cars will be located in the large public parking lot at the corner of Main and Vance Streets across from Ashworth’s Clothing and in the private lot behind Pass It On.
Music will be provided by the Mayor of Mamers. “The Mayor” brings lots of fun and energy to this annual event. At 7:00pm a hula-hoop contest for children and adults will take place with trophies being awarded at the end.
The Cruise-In offers families a great opportunity to get out for a night of inexpensive, family-filled fun close to home. "We are so pleased to bring this kind of entertainment to downtown", said Cindy Overman, Chairperson of Fuquay-Varina Downtown. Pre-1975 cars are welcome and there is no fee to display a car. While at the event, cruisers can register for a variety of door prizes supplied by the stores in DOWNTOWN Fuquay-Varina. There will be a 50/50 drawing at 7:45pm. Anyone can purchase a ticket at the Fuquay-Varina Downtown information booth . Proceeds will benefit the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Revitalization.
